Status and ecology:

National Status: Common

A resident well distributed species generally occurring singly and occasionally sparingly at mv light in a wide range of habitats throughout the region. Single-brooded, flying mainly from late May to late September. Larvae feed on the fur of dead foxes. (Pratt, 2011)
