2463 Burnet Companion, Euclidia glyphica (Linnaeus, 1758)

Status and ecology:

A resident species in decline in large areas. Normally occurs sparingly but occasionally fairly common or common by day. Sometimes abundant at Burgess Hill. Well distributed on the Downs between Arundel and Seaford and in zones in the north-west and far east, but missing from elsewhere. Usually single-brooded flying mainly from the second week of May to the second week of July. Larvae feed on clovers. (Pratt, 2011)
