Status and ecology:

National Status: Common

A resident species, usually occurring singly or sparingly at mv light in a wide range of habitats across the region. Occasionally common in a few places. Well distributed but perhaps missing from central parts. Double-brooded, flying mainly from mid-May to late June and again from late July to late August. Larvae breed in old birds' nests. (Pratt, 2011)
