Noctuidae

2492 Small Fan-foot, Herminia grisealis ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Status and ecology:

A resident species, usually occurring sparingly or fairly commonly at mv light amongst deciduous woodlands, but sometimes common in parts of the west. Well distributed, probably generally so in large areas, but very local in numbers and much less frequent along treeless parts of the coast. Single-brooded, flying mainly from late May to mid-August. Larvae feed on oak, hazel and traveller's joy. (Pratt, 2011)
