Status and ecology:

National Status: Local

A resident species usually occurring sparingly by day and at mv light; sometimes fairly common in a very few of the foremost deciduous woodlands. Single-brooded, flying mainly from late May to early July. Larvae feed on (silver) birch and hazel. (Pratt, 2011)
