Status and ecology:

National Status: Common

A resident species, with larvae occurring sparingly and adults in singletons in a few deciduous woods. Double-brooded, flying mainly from late June to late July and again from early September to late October, and then reappearing after hibernation when they are present in spring during March and April. Larvae feed on (silver) birch. (Pratt, 2011)
