Status and ecology:

National Status: Nb

Resident. Both adults and larvae are sometimes fairly common in a few swamps and gravel pits. Extremely local. Single-brooded, flying mainly during June, occasionally from late May or to mid August. Larvae bore and feed on the wood inside branches of willow. (Pratt, 2011).
