Status and ecology:

National Status: Common

A resident species generally occurring singly or sparingly at mv light in both vice-counties, although it is occasionally fairly common in boggy habitats, especially those associated with heathery commons in the north of the county. Single-brooded, flying mainly from late May to the third week of July. Larvae feed inside the stems of rushes. (Pratt, 2011).
