Status and ecology:

National Status: Common

A resident species often common and occasionally very common by day in a range of habitats across the region but apparently absent from central areas. Single-brooded, flying mainly from mid-May to mid-July. Larvae feed on the young shoots of herbaceous plants. (Pratt, 2011)
