Coleophoridae

535 (Forest Case-bearer), Coleophora ibipennella Zeller, 1849

Status and ecology:

National Status: Local

Resident. Old records may have been misidentifications of C. betulella. The first definite example was not recorded until 1993 and single adults have subsequently been recorded between late June and mid July at half a dozen sites scattered across the two counties. Larval cases have been found on birch at two sites during October (Pratt, 2011).
