Status and ecology:

National Status: Common

A resident species, usually occurring singly at mv light in both vice-counties, although often common at Walberton. Apparently missing from large areas. Single-brooded, flying mainly from mid-July to late August, and again after hibernation from early April to early June. Larvae feed on the leaves and flowers of hemlock. (Pratt, 2011)
