Status and ecology:

National Status: Common

Resident. Normally found in small numbers at mv light in a wide range of habitats across both vice-counties. Mainly flies from August to early October and then after hibernation in spring but adults have been recorded in every week from early February to late October. Larvae feed on thistles, knapweed and burdock (Pratt, 2011).
