Status and ecology:

National Status: Nationally Scarce B

Resident. Very local but can be common at a few places on the downs between Eastbourne and Littlehampton. Flies from August to early October and again after hibernation from late March to May. Larvae feed on the shoots of knapweed (Pratt, 2011).
